Dwarves move in inhuman ways. They simply carry themselves differently. Of Middle Earth’s creatures, they are stiffest and most masculine. There’s little trace of elven elegance in the way a dwarf moves. So we took care to capture their confident, swinging saunter. Most fantasy gesticulations tend to be a bit theatrical. And the unknowns of game cameras require robust actions.
Still, Dwarves are not ones to overexert. They move what’s necessary, when necessary. We took care to experiment with ways to capture their unique sturdiness and squatness, weighted by heavy armor. Thankfully, we had experienced actors to perform this balance of stoic hardiness and action.
